Inspired by

Nature

Babirwa’s utterly delicious bush cuisine is a big feature, and our menus are both seasonal and sustainable, inspired by nature. The greenhouse walk is a must, where guests learn about the ingredients that feed our souls. It’s every chef’s dream to work with organic food, and we have a culinary head start, as all our vegetables and herbs are grown on our land.

It starts in the

morning

Each morning, we walk through the greenhouse, hand-picking herbs, greens, and root vegetables for our famed bush breakfast or romantic dinner under the stars. The greenhouse forms part of our commitment to sustainability rooted in freshness and nature.
Because of our situation in the Waterberg, we sometimes use unusual local wonder foods and medicinal herbs, such as Impepho, Umhlonyane – a medicinal plant used for respiratory ailments, aloe and parts of the money tree. In addition to boasting the largest ancient blackberry tree, we also grow berries, figs, pomegranates, granadillas, citrus, avocadoes, mangoes, many types of tomatoes, and beautiful tea herbs.
